Established in 2016, the college was founded to provide accessible, quality higher education to students from rural and nearby areas. Since its inception, it has made steady progress in both academics and infrastructure. Today, the college stands on its own well-developed, scenic campus, surrounded by serene hills that create an ideal environment for learning and personal growth.
At Government Degree College, we believe education is far more than the acquisition of knowledge. It is a holistic process that nurtures intellectual curiosity, ethical values, and a sense of responsible citizenship. Our aim is to develop well-rounded individuals who can face the challenges of an ever-changing world with integrity and competence.
The college is supported by a team of highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated faculty across Humanities, Commerce, and Science. They are committed to high academic standards and continuous mentorship. Beyond the classroom, we actively encourage participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities through the National Service Scheme (NSS), Rangers and Rovers, Eco Club, Road Safety Club, and Red Ribbon Club. We are also in the process of establishing an NCC (Girls) unit this academic session. These activities build leadership, discipline, teamwork, and social responsibility.
I am pleased to share that the college has signed four Memorandums of Understanding with reputed institutions: the Himachal State Museum, Shimla; Cardiomersion, a global organization promoting integrated cardiac care; Bahra University; and Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology. These partnerships aim to enhance academic exposure, promote knowledge exchange, and open new career opportunities.

I would also like to emphasize the importance of discipline and ethical conduct. Students are advised to avoid ragging, substance abuse, smoking, and eve-teasing, as these are harmful to personal growth and social harmony. I encourage you to stay focused on your academic and personal goals while upholding respect, integrity, and responsibility.
While academic success is important, it is equally essential to cultivate integrity, discipline, and a sense of social responsibility.
